The path to your own transportation company. How participants learn to plan their own runs

We continue to share news about the project with you. Today's episode is about an experiment: some of the project participants learn how to plan their own runs for three months.

We recall that: One of the features of the MONOPOLY.Business project is to advise participants on matters where we are the experts. MONOPOLY GC exists on the market for 15 years, and during this time we have accumulated extensive experience in the rational planning of transportation. We are pleased to share this knowledge with entrepreneurs. Our task is to help yesterday’s drivers who used to work for hire, to build their own transportation company in the project. But running your own business requires a variety of skills.

So the idea for the experiment was born: to offer entrepreneurs to try planning their own runs.

Fourteen participants were randomly selected. They all agreed to test the knowledge gained in the project practically. Their task is to maintain the level of income, which was before the experiment or increase it. The business model is designed to make a profit of around 100,000 rubles per month. Also, entrepreneurs can not forget to comply with the parameters of efficiency (we wrote about them here). Therefore, the benchmark is this amount. An important condition: revenue should cover the operating costs.

The experiment began at the end of April. Participants gained access to the Monopoly.Online platform and pick their own runs. If any difficulties arise, entrepreneurs can get advice from their business partners or the project support service. But the main task is to manage logistics independently. Two or three times a month, the experiment participants get feedback and determine the effectiveness of the planning.

Here are some of the indicators that entrepreneurs measure performance against:

    — provisional amount of profit after taxes (in rubles),

    — mileage for the reporting period (in km),

    — earnings for the period (in rubles),

    — earnings per kilometer travelled (rubles/km).

The participants themselves influence the final result. However, we are constantly monitoring the dynamics of the indicators of entrepreneurs. If the participant’s losses are about 50,000 rubles or exceed this amount, the experiment can be terminated for him.

Those who independently planned the runs and kept the profitability — from 100,000 rubles after deducting all expenses — will be considered effective. If at the end of three months the majority of participants (80% or more) turn out to be effective, the rest of the Monopoly.Business entrepreneurs will gradually be included in the experiment.

So far most of the participants are coping with the task. But we’ll sum up the results after the experiment is over.
